Becky & Cody
Becky and Cody wanted a relaxed wedding with lots of delicious food and drink for guests to enjoy. Their wonderful summer wedding at Clock Barn included a fantastic menu, gorgeous decorations, personal details and a romantic soft blush pink and white colour scheme. It really was a perfect English country wedding.
From the outset, Becky and Cody knew that choosing the right venue was key in creating the relaxed wedding that they wanted.
“We just wanted the whole day to be fun and not too formal so having a venue with lots of different spaces for guests to enjoy was important. We only looked at one venue as we knew from the moment that we arrived at Clock Barn that it was ‘the one’.” – Becky.
“Everything about Clock Barn is stunning but we particularly loved the long drive up to the barn, the beautiful gardens and the fact that there were lots of areas for guests to relax in. The fairy lights and the bunting also created such a beautiful atmosphere.” – Becky.
The couple’s rustic theme worked perfectly at Clock Barn and the blush pink details looked so dreamy on a summer’s day.
“Our florist, Garden Inn, was amazing and created exactly what we wanted, even though we weren’t sure what that was! There was a beautiful flower arch at the entrance to the barn and jars of flowers, all different, on each table. I asked for an ‘undone’ bouquet and this was finished off with lace from my dress, wrapped around the stems, and a charm with photos of my grandparents attached, which was incredibly special to me.” – Becky.
The couple also decorated the fire in the Stable Room with photos from their ten years together and we loved the luggage tag place names that were made by a friend. Younger guests were treated to activity books and the wedding signage that greeted guests outside the barn looked amazing. Becky and Cody also added giant LOVE letters from Love My Lights to the dancefloor and these were a superb backdrop for photos.
Becky and Cody also brought their personalities to the decorations and, as huge Harry Potter fans, they knew they had to incorporate the famous wizard into their day. The cake topper, complete with Harry Potter quote, was a fun touch.
Becky wore an absolutely beautiful Essence of Australia dress and we adored the wow factor train and the intricate lace.
“I found my dress at Pure Couture Bridal Boutique in Beaconsfield. I asked the stylists for a dress that covered some scars I have on my chest and they picked out a selection for me to try and then added a little more lace for me.” – Becky.
Becky accessorised her bridal look with classic wedding shoes from Rainbow Club, gypsophilia hair clips and a veil decorated with tiny sequins. She borrowed diamond earrings from her mum and wore her great-grandmother’s ring as her something old along with a bridal garter with a touch of blue.
“Cody knew that he wanted to wear top hat and tails – when else do you get to wear these?! The suits were hired from Impeccable and they looked great. My bridesmaids wore dresses from ASOS that looked fantastic on the day, so nice and ‘floaty’.” – Becky.
After holding their marriage ceremony at All Hallows Church in Whitchurch, just five minutes from Clock Barn, the newlyweds and their guests arrived at Clock Barn to begin the celebrations. The reception drinks of summery Pimms and vodka berry cocktails were very popular, as were the canapes that included yummy mini beef burgers and bitesize steak and chips.
“As the wedding was in August, and the gardens at Clock Barn are so beautiful, we knew we wanted guests to spend lots of time outside. We bought a selection of outdoor games such as croquet and lawn darts and these kept everyone, of all ages, entertained throughout the day.” – Becky.
The menu for the wedding breakfast hit Becky and Cody’s brief of ‘simple food, perfectly executed’. They chose to start with Scotch egg, followed by beef wellington and a trio of desserts. As an extra treat, the couple added a surprise course – a chocolate lollipop, served in a box of dry ice!
“The Events Team were absolutely incredible and we had nothing to worry about on the day. We also had so many compliments about all the food, particularly the beef as it was cooked perfectly and tasted absolutely delicious. In the evening, we served pizzas and ice cream and both went down a treat.” – Becky.
The evening party was packed with fun from start to finish. The couple’s band, Lo Fi from Warble Entertainment, were outstanding. They played three live sets throughout the evening and everyone was on the dancefloor. The photobooth from The White Booth, in the Stable Room, provided hours of fun for guests and everyone enjoyed every single moment of this adorable summer wedding.
“I loved walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Cody waiting for me. I think that sometimes, during the planning process, you spend so much time planning the food, the flowers and all the little bits in between that you can forget the whole purpose of the day is actually to get married.” – Becky.
“I would say to everyone to trust and listen to the recommendations from your venue, they really know what they’re doing. Also, don’t sweat the small stuff. Wedding planning should be fun and, on the day, everything flies by so take a few minutes to yourselves to just take it all in.” – Becky.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Clock Barn for all their help in the lead up to our wedding and on the day itself. The team made everything so easy for us and we knew that everything was under control at all times – we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you!” – Becky and Cody.
