Lindsay & Luke
Lindsay and Luke’s romantic autumn wedding at Clock Barn was a really personal and intimate celebration. The day was full of beautiful rustic details and lots of wonderful seasonal touches that made it a very special day for everyone.
The Venue
When Lindsay and Luke started planning their wedding, they knew that they wanted a venue where they could relax for the whole day with no travelling between the marriage ceremony and wedding reception. Lindsay already knew of Clock Barn and was keen to look around:
“Years ago, I worked with a girl who was married at Clock Barn and I remember looking at her photos and thinking that I would love to get married there one day!” – Lindsay
“As soon as we looked around, we both loved everything about Clock Barn – the barn is so beautiful on its own and it doesn’t need a huge amount of decoration. When I look through the ceremony room, it gave me butterflies because it just felt so romantic and warm.” – Lindsay
The Décor
Lindsay and Luke chose a rustic theme for their October wedding and the season also helped them decide on their colour scheme and decorations:
“Our colour theme was burgundy and a nude pink. As it was an autumn wedding, I really wanted to add some warmth into the colours and I instantly thought of burgundy.” – Lindsay
The couple felt that the barn didn’t need a lot of additional dressing but they did add some rustic hanging hearts, photos, wedding signs and large floral LOVE letters from Love With Letters. There were even tissues for guests’ happy tears.
“Our florist, The Little Violet, also added petals along the aisle and two big plinth arrangements sat on either side of the ceremony table. There were also flowers around the table plan, on our cake and as table centrepieces.” – Lindsay
The Outfits
Lindsay wore a beautiful Stella York gown with lace details from Confetti Bridal Centre in Wokingham.
“When we were looking for my dress, my sister picked out this dress for me to try on but I said no. Later on, the assistant suggested the same gown and when I tried it on, I instantly fell in love with it. We all cried and I knew it was the dress! It suited my figure so well and I loved all the detail.” – Lindsay
On the day, Lindsay accessorised her look with a pair of diamond earrings, a gift from Luke on the morning of the wedding, and super comfortable shoes from Rainbow Club.
Lindsay’s bridesmaids wore nude pink dresses from ASOS with gorgeous bow detailing. Lindsay gifted her maids personalised bracelets, which they wore on the day as the perfect finishing touch to their look.
Luke wore a fantastic navy blue suit with a coordinating burgundy tie that matched the colour scheme wonderfully. The suits worn by Luke and the groomsmen were hired from Black Tie in Crowthorne.
The Wedding
Lindsay and Luke held their marriage ceremony at Clock Barn and they created the romantic feel they wanted from the first moment. Their harpist played to welcome guests and they personalised their ceremony with a reading by Luke’s sister. Following the vows, it was time to celebrate with delicious drinks and canapes:
“We served Pimms and elderflower sparklers alongside crispy duck spring rolls with a hoisin dipping sauce, Thai chicken with a sweet chilli glace, ricotta and spinach tartlets with toasted pine nuts plus crispy squid cones.” – Lindsay
The couple’s wedding breakfast was an absolute hit with all the guests. The smoked bacon Scotch egg starter was followed by fillet of beef with potato dauphinoise and green peppercorn sauce. For dessert, everyone enjoyed a mouth-watering triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream.
“We also served our wedding cake, made by Reilly Cakes, in the evening along with yummy wood-fired pizza. Everyone at the wedding commented on how good the food and drink were and the on-site catering team were incredible on the day.” – Lindsay
Final Thoughts
“I know everyone says it but enjoy every moment of wedding planning. Be strong and don’t let other people push you into doing things that you don’t want to do. Make lists, be organised and don’t be afraid to ask people for help.” – Lindsay
“The Events Team helped us so much and no question was too much for them. They were so organised and made sure the day ran so smoothly.” – Lindsay
“I truly did love every part of the day but the ceremony was amazing. It just felt so meaningful and emotional. Having everyone we care about share that special moment with us meant the world to us both.” – Lindsay
