Roxanne and Nicholas
A rural countryside wedding with just the company of their family and friends.
Roxanne and Nicholas already had a clear idea of what they wanted from their wedding day – right from the moment they got engaged. They loved the idea of a rural countryside wedding with just the company of their family and friends. The pair didn’t want anything too formal either – just a day of love and laughter and a touch of rock and roll!
The Venue
Roxanne and Nicholas set upon finding the perfect barn venue and it wasn’t long before they came across Clock Barn. Keen to host an intimate wedding, with just 50 of their nearest and dearest, the cosy feel of Clock Barn was well suited to their day. The couple also loved the beautiful surroundings at the barn – something they hoped to take advantage of when it came to their wedding photos.
“Clock Barn instantly caught our attention. It had a great choice of ceremony rooms and was really beautiful.” – Roxanne
The Décor
The couple decided to add a vibrant touch to the barn with their wedding décor, styling the venue with their peacock feather theme. When it came to creating all those little touches, they got the whole family involved.
Nicholas’ mum made the pair’s wedding cake, and the couple got decorated the cake with their homemade sugar flowers.
“We made lots of the decorations ourselves, which really helped to add a personal touch.” – Roxanne
The Outfits
With a bold and beautiful wedding theme, Roxanne made sure to choose a dress to match. Her lace Justin Alexander gown had a mermaid cut and a beautiful Queen Anne Neckline.
Nicholas decided to tie his wedding suit in with the overall theme, opting for a blue Ted Baker suit with a white shirt, purple tie and tan shoes.
Roxanne’s three bridesmaids dressed in vibrant peacock colours too, completing the wedding party in teal.
The Wedding
On their wedding day both Roxanne and Nicholas, and their bridesmaids and groomsmen, got ready at Clock Barn in separate areas.
After the ceremony, the couple relaxed in their countryside surroundings and went on to enjoy a three-course meal to impress. They started with a broccoli and stilton soup, before tucking into a main of burgundy chicken with onion, bacon, seasonal veggies and a red wine jus. Their dessert choice was sticky toffee pudding – a classic both the couple and their wedding guests loved!
Keen to throw a party for all their guests to remember, the couple made sure to include lots of entertainment. They hired a photo booth for the night as well as some inflatable music props – which made their way on to the dance floor!
In keeping with their rock-fuelled evening, the pair choose Metallica classic, Nothing Else Matters, for their first dance – a great choice for setting the tone of their classic rock night.
“Rocking out in the evening was definitely the best part of the day. Everyone got involved and our inflatables went down a treat with both the kids and the adults!” – Roxanne
Roxanne’s Final Thoughts…
“We can’t think of anything we’d change about the day. It went exactly to plan – and possibly even better than expected!”
