Siân and Joe
A rustic-styled wedding with a pastel colour scheme and simple décor.
From the moment Siân and Joe got engaged, they knew they wanted to tie the knot at a barn venue. With a relaxed, homely, yet fun wedding in mind, the pair knew that finding the right wedding venue was key…
The Venue
After looking at a number of barn venues, Siân and Joe still hadn’t found a wedding venue that wowed – that was until they came across Clock Barn.
From the moment they arrived, they knew they’d found something special. They were impressed with the wedding team, who were able to answer their every question, as well as the setting and surroundings. What’s more, their families, who came along for the show around, loved it too!
“Every time we looked at another venue we just kept coming back to Clock Barn and so decided to go for it.” – Siân
The Décor
The pair dreamed of a rustic-styled wedding, full of pretty touches. They opted for a pastel colour scheme and simple décor – not wanting to take away from the natural beauty of the barn.
“We had flowers in vases, white chair sashes with lavender in them, and pompoms.” – Siân
The Outfits
Siân was lucky enough to win her wedding dress from ukbride.co.uk. Her gown was made from organza material, had a sweetheart neckline, and featured beaded detailing on the waist. Siân teamed her dress with a veil that was remodelled by her grandmother – who also made the six bridesmaids’ dresses!
Joe dressed in true country style to complement the setting of Clock Barn. He opted for black jeans, a white shirt, with sleeves rolled up, and braces.
The Wedding
On the 15th August 2015, Siân arrived at Clock Barn with her father in a stylish Bentley. Siân and Joe tied the knot in the barn, before enjoying their wedding breakfast and evening party.
For their wedding meal, the couple opted for a pork and apple spring roll starter, a chicken and goats cheese main, and a shortbread stack with raspberries and clotted cream for dessert.
While the couple’s menu may sound sophisticated, they didn’t forget to add in that touch of fun. Having asked their DJ for something fun to do during the wedding breakfast, the pair decided to entertain their guests with a hilarious game.
“We asked one male from each table to stand up and got the rest of the table to dress him up as a bride. The outcomes were hilarious. Our great uncle, another uncle, a cousin, and one of our brothers all ended up having a makeover!” – Siân
In the evening, the couple tucked into a relaxed American feast – one of the menus offered by the barn, before hitting the dance floor with family and friends.
Siân’s Final Thoughts…
“Don’t worry about the things that could go wrong on your day, or how to make everyone happy. It’s silly to waste all your time on those things. Your guests will be happy if you’re happy.”
