Our favourite wedding trends for 2025
Over the many years of hosting weddings at Clock Barn, we’ve absolutely loved seeing the ever-evolving trends and styles that our couples embrace each year.
If you’re planning a wedding in 2025, you’re probably on the lookout for some tips and ideas for your own wedding day! So, we’ve put together a list of our favourite upcoming trends for the coming year. Grab a cuppa, sit back and get ready to be inspired…
WEDDING WEAR STYLES
The 1920s are back, with dropped waists on wedding dresses tipped to be a huge trend for 2025. Different fabrics, simple or elaborate designs, neckline options, sleeves, and embellishments all give options for personalising this universally chic cut.
But why have one wedding outfit when you can have two?! We’re seeing more and more couples opting for a second and even third wedding outfit! This may be to show off more than one aspect of your personality – for example, elegant for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, then playful for the evening reception. Or it could be for practical reasons – your evening look might be less restrictive to your movements while you dance the night away!
For suits, more people are opting for a colour other than the classic black or grey. Shades of green, red, purple or blue are all popular choices for 2025. You can choose additional details such as custom monogramming, embroidery or jacket linings, meaning that the possibilities are endless.
COLOUR SCHEMES
On the subject of colours, many couples are choosing bright, bold and beautiful options for a lively and energetic atmosphere, not to mention the visual impact of the photographs and videos.
We’re also predicting that a lot of 2025 weddings will embrace natural colour palettes. We’re seeing trends of sage and lavender, moss and brown along with the jewel-tone themes that couples have been loving for the last couple of years.
OUTDOOR CEREMONIES
Outdoor ceremonies have been gaining popularity in recent years, and that doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon! Here at Clock Barn, we have not one but two beautiful outdoor ceremony spaces – the lawn opposite the Tufton Warren farmhouse where your guests will face the stunning gardens or, if you would like a longer aisle, the Paddock is a fantastic choice.
Please note, The Farmhouse lawn is only available for outdoor weddings if you select the Tufton Warren accommodation package.
Top tip: If you choose an outdoor ceremony, you may wish to consider advising guests not to wear stiletto heels, or to include heel stoppers in their wedding guest outfit shopping.
SEATING ARRANGEMENTS
For a more relaxed feel to the wedding breakfast, ask your wedding planner about long banquet-style tables instead of round ones. Guests sitting opposite each other will be closer together, allowing them to catch up, get to know each other, or talk about the fabulous day they’re having! Here at Clock Barn, we have long tables for our casual dining style.
We’re also seeing more couples embracing the ‘sweetheart table’ instead of a traditional top table. This smaller table is just for the newlyweds, with the rest of the friends and family sitting amongst the other guests. Sweetheart tables offer couples a chance to have some precious one on one time whilst they eat their meal before – something couples often wish they had more of throughout their wedding day!
FLOWERS, FRUITS & FENNEL
Floral arrangements are an integral part of weddings, but why not mix it up a bit by including fruits and vegetables in your table pieces or altar flowers? Have a chat with your florist about which ones will add vivid colours, various textures and maybe even appealing aromas. Keep your choices environmentally friendly by opting for locally grown and in-season produce.
SUSTAINABLE CHOICES
Whether you’re looking for a totally trend-led wedding or if you’d just like to include a few new ideas in your plans, perhaps some of these incredible ideas Speaking of the environment, more of us are now making small but important changes to our lifestyles to be kinder to the planet, and your wedding doesn’t have to be any different. There are many ways you can reduce the environmental impact of your wedding, without compromising on your dream vision.
At Clock Barn, we focus on sourcing local, seasonal ingredients, reducing the need for long journeys to make your ideal menu possible. Our talented chefs can also work with you to create bespoke dishes specific to your wedding.
You could swap traditional paper invitations for digital options, such as a PDF copy of an invitation and other relevant information such as local accommodation, or a private wedding website. If you still love the idea of posting paper invitations, you could use recycled paper, or even use seeded paper for your guests to plant after the wedding!
Avoid plastic-wrapped or single use favours. Consider edible options, seeds for guests to plant in their gardens/window boxes, or even a donation on behalf of your guests to a charity close to your hearts.
